I first became aware of my intuitive side when I was around seven years old. One evening, while watching television with my family, I suddenly felt a strong and unfamiliar presence. It was as if something inside me shifted. I remember feeling older somehow, more aware, as though I had briefly connected with a deeper or wiser part of life. I couldn’t explain it at the time, but that moment quietly opened something in me.

After that, my sensitivity grew. I began to feel things more deeply and notice emotions, atmospheres, and people in a different way. As a child, I didn’t have language for it, so I simply carried it with me and continued living my life.

Years later, in high school, this inner awareness resurfaced in a very natural way. In 1990, while I was in high school, I gave my first coffee cup reading to my best friend. I thought it would only take a few minutes. Instead, the reading lasted nearly half an hour. We spoke about many areas of her life, and I remember how deeply affected she was by what came through. She became very quiet, very pale, and very thoughtful.

After that day, she told others. Soon, friends — especially the girls at school — began bringing me their coffee cups. Without planning it, coffee cup reading became something people sought me out for. It didn’t begin as a business. It began as conversations, curiosity, and a natural exchange of insight.

From there, the practice continued to grow. Over time, experience, reflection, and years of reading shaped it into what it is today.

Alternatives to coffee:
You can use hot chocolate or loose-leaf tea instead (not tea bags). They also leave sediment and patterns that can be read. Avoid milk, let it settle, then send 2–3 cup photos plus 1 saucer photo.

Alternatives to Turkish style coffee:
• You can use any ground coffee (espresso, stovetop, plunger, café coffee)
• It just needs to leave sediment in the cup
• Use more coffee and less water than usual
• No milk or cream
• Sugar is fine

The important thing is that the coffee leaves clear patterns and grounds for the reading.

There are many cultural traditions around coffee cup reading. Some people swirl the cup three times, some say a wish, and some don’t swirl at all.

Swirling or not swirling does not change the reading itself.
What matters is the natural patterns formed by the coffee.

You are welcome to swirl the cup if it feels meaningful to you — or not swirl it at all. The most important part is that you do it in a way that feels right and intuitive for you.

Changes requested with enough notice can usually be accommodated, depending on availability.

Cancellations or rescheduling made with less than 4 days’ notice will incur a cancellation fee of $80 AUD.

Unfortunately, missed appointments and late cancellations cannot be refunded, as that time has been reserved especially for you.

There’s no single “right” schedule — it depends on your situation, your budget, and what you’re seeking clarity on.

As a general guide, most clients find a reading is most helpful every 3–6 months, because it gives life time to unfold and insights time to settle. Some people prefer once a year as a check-in, and others book sooner only when they’re facing a major change (relationship, work, relocation, or a big decision).

I don’t recommend readings too frequently, because the goal is empowerment — not dependency. My readings are detailed and comprehensive, so I encourage you to take your time, reflect, and see how things develop.

Coffee cup reading is intuitive and energetic work. To give a clear reading, my energy needs to be balanced and focused.

I take care of my health and lifestyle to support this. However, I am human too. On rare occasions, if I am unwell or not in a suitable state to give a proper reading, I reschedule appointments rather than deliver something that is not at my best.

Coffee’s story begins not in Türkiye, but in Ethiopia and Yemen.

Coffee is believed to have been discovered in the Arab world around the 6th century. For many years, coffee remained largely within the region. It later entered Ottoman lands through Yemen, which was an Ottoman territory at the time.

Turks were introduced to coffee in 1543, when the Ottoman Governor of Yemen brought coffee to Istanbul during the reign of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent. According to historical sources, including Turkish Coffee by M. Sabri Koz and Kemalettin Kuzucu, Istanbul’s first coffee houses opened in the bustling Tahtakale district and their numbers quickly grew into the hundreds — and eventually into the thousands.

From Istanbul, coffee began its journey westward. Through Ottoman ambassadors, traders, and travellers, coffee reached Europe, where it slowly became part of daily life.

The Ottomans refined the art of coffee. They mastered roasting, grinding, brewing, and serving, shaping what the world came to know as Turkish coffee.
Marvelous ceramic coffee cups and silver holders with enamelled decorations, copper coffee pots, and beautifully crafted wooden coffee and sugar boxes became part of a more elegant lifestyle.

In Türkiye, coffee has never been only a drink. It has always been a social ritual, a symbol of hospitality, and a central part of culinary and entertainment culture. Coffee houses were places of conversation, poetry, games, storytelling, and community.

There is also an important historical reality that shows how valued coffee once was. In Ottoman times, a woman could legally seek divorce if her husband failed to provide enough coffee for the household — because this meant he could not provide sufficient financial support. This was recognised as a legitimate reason to appeal to religious and legal authorities.

To this day, Turkish coffee remains deeply woven into daily life, hospitality, and the ancient tradition of coffee cup reading.

Fortune telling with coffee developed after tea leaf reading, known as tasseography, which began many centuries ago in China. Over time, different cultures adapted this practice to what they drank most — and in the Middle East, that drink became coffee.

The art of coffee cup reading has been practised for hundreds of years throughout the Near East and became deeply rooted in Türkiye, where it remains hugely popular today.

Wherever you go in Türkiye, you will still see people having coffee with friends and reading each other’s cups — sharing impressions, stories, laughter, and insight. It is both a social ritual and a cultural tradition.
